No. Support is optional. Once everything is paid, your website is yours with or without it.
Without support, you take care of updates and backups yourself. You also check that the site is online.
In daily work, these are often the very tasks that get left behind.

No, after acceptance and full payment the website is yours either way. Without support, however, updates, backups and availability checks are down to you, and in our experience those are exactly the tasks that get left in the daily grind.
