In short and in plain language

Here you see what we build for trade businesses. We do not name our clients on this page.

You can click through drafts yourself. The firms in them are made up. The layout and the way they work are real.

You can also read how a project runs with us. Once everything is paid, the site and the logins belong to you.

websites hosted in Germany

This page manages without client names and without before-and-after figures. The businesses we work for have every right not to end up as advertising material, and numbers nobody can verify are worthless on a reference page anyway. What you will find instead: what we work on, how a project runs, and which technology sits underneath. What the result looks like is shown by four complete layout drafts further down this page.

Fields of competence instead of a client list

A website for a trade business has a manageable job: someone with a problem should call you rather than the next name on the list. 94 per cent (Bitkom) of German trade businesses already run their own website, 88 per cent (Bitkom) are additionally listed in online directories. Simply being online is no longer a difference. The difference is made in the first few seconds: can a visitor tell which trade you are in, where you work, and how to reach you?

Expectations have risen alongside. 74 per cent (Bitkom) of businesses find that customers have become more critical, and 85 per cent (Bitkom) see a clear demand for constant availability. Anyone with a dripping pipe in the cellar at half past eight in the evening is not reading a brochure. They are looking for a number, a form, and a note about when someone will call back. That is what we build towards; the individual components are listed under services.

Structure that follows your work

A business running an emergency service needs a different home page than a joinery booked out six months ahead. We order the page around the jobs you want — and the ones you do not.

Phone use comes first

Most enquiries start on the move, often one-handed. Tap targets, type sizes and form length are planned for that case. The large screen comes second.

Photos from your own business

Everyone recognises a stock photo. We accompany the shoot on site and arrange the images so that finished work leads, not the tools. More on this under photos for the website.

Being found nearby

Location, service area and services belong together: on the website and in your business profile. We keep both in step so opening hours and services do not drift apart.

Pages people actually apply to

75 per cent (Bitkom) of businesses see the skills shortage as a central problem, 80 per cent (Bitkom) address young talent through digital channels. A careers page with pictures from everyday work belongs to that: recruiting staff.

Care after launch

A website ages. Updates, backups and small changes are ours to handle if you want: maintenance and support from 49 euros per month, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term.

Two views of the same work

What actually changes in a relaunch

The most common starting point is not a missing website but one that has stood for eight years. It was fine back then; since then half the internet has moved onto the phone. A relaunch therefore rarely swaps colours alone: it sorts the services, makes the phone number reachable, and replaces running text with pages that match individual jobs.

  • Review existing content and keep whatever still holds true
  • Redirect old addresses so search results do not run into nothing

What every site contains

Whatever the trade, the building blocks repeat. We do not reinvent them each time; we fit them to the business: same structure, different content, different order. That keeps the fixed price stable and makes sure nothing important is forgotten when a project has to move quickly.

  • Legal texts, reachability and forms are part of the base scope
  • Usable with the keyboard, without a mouse and at large type sizes
  • Handover with a short briefing so someone in the office can swap texts

Typical starting points

The following histories are examples, not client projects, and stand for typical situations. They deliberately contain no business names, no towns and no revenue figures: what a single business gains in enquiries after a relaunch depends on trade, region, season and price level, and cannot be passed on as a promise.

Three histories of the kind that come up regularly

Electrical · emergency service
Starting point
Online, the business was mainly findable through an old directory entry. Its own site consisted of a home page with a sketch map; the phone number sat in the imprint.
Measure
New website with a dedicated page per field of work, the phone number as a tap target in every view, and a fault report form asking for location, system age and urgency.
Result
Enquiries now arrive carrying the details needed for an assessment, instead of a bare request for a call back.
Plumbing and heating · relaunch
Starting point
The existing site was barely usable on a phone, bathrooms and heating sat together in one long text, and nobody had maintained it for years.
Measure
Relaunch on an open basis, own photos of finished bathrooms instead of stock imagery, separate pages for bathrooms, heating, maintenance and emergencies, handover with a briefing.
Result
The areas can now be found individually, and someone in the office can swap texts and pictures without calling us.
Carpentry · new recruits
Starting point
Vacancies were filled through notices and print ads. Anyone looking the business up online found no sign that it was hiring at all.
Measure
Careers page with pictures from everyday work, clear statements on hours and working area, plus a short form that also works from a phone.
Result
Applications arrive in writing with contact details and can be collected, instead of trailing off in single phone calls.

Example, not a client project. No particular outcome is assured.

Four layout drafts to click through

They show structure and handling. The businesses in them are fictional.

Draft
Electrical engineering

Electrical: technical, bright, calculators instead of walls of text

This draft works with a bright, cool-grey grid, a copper accent and a plain typeface without ornament. Rather than long descriptions, eight fields of work lead into sections of their own, with a filter sorting them by occasion. Two calculators take over the explaining: one estimates system size from consumption, the other shows which charging power fits the time available. The fault section deliberately sits apart so it can be reached in two steps, even from a cellar.

Service filterCharging calculatorEmergency service
Draft
Plumbing and heating

Plumbing and heating: cool, matter-of-fact, choices instead of prose

Here a narrow, technical typeface on light grey with a petrol accent carries the site. The draft almost entirely avoids running text and works through selection instead: a bathroom configurator leads via size, fittings and accessibility to a cost range, while a comparison sets the existing system against a heat pump. Emergency reports are sorted by urgency so a burst pipe does not get the same form as a maintenance appointment.

Roofing

Roofing: heavy, dark, built around storm damage

The heaviest of the four drafts: dark slate grey, tile red as the accent, a strong serif in the headings. The structure follows the emergency. A damage reporter asks in three steps for roof type, year of construction and area, and shows the enquiry as a draft before it is sent. Alongside sit a six-point storm checklist and an honest explanation of what emergency sealing does and does not achieve. The service area is a visible section of its own.

Joinery

Joinery: warm, calm, the material up front

A cream background, warm oak tones and a soft typeface with real character give this draft the handmade tone a workshop needs. Four materials are set side by side with their quirks rather than ticked off in a list. A furniture configurator combines carcass, front and handle and names a price range for it, while a section of its own uses measuring on site to explain why a standard size and a workshop size are not the same thing.

What sets the four drafts apart

The drafts are deliberately not four colour variants of one template. Typeface, contrast, imagery and order differ because the jobs differ: an emergency service is used in a hurry, a joinery is compared at leisure. Which version suits your trade is easiest to see on the pages under industries, where every trade has a page of its own. Whether an agency is the right route at all, or whether a website builder in your own hands would do, we have compared soberly elsewhere.

Technology we use

We work with open systems so that you are not tied to us. Which system it becomes depends on the scope: for most businesses a lean solution that loads quickly and can be operated from the office is enough. What each level of build costs is set out in full under prices.

WordPress, TYPO3 or Contao

Open systems without licence lock-in. You keep access, data and content, even once the collaboration ends. For small sites we will build without any content system on request, which is faster and needs less maintenance.

Your own template, not a bought design

Colours, type and image treatment are made for the business. That is why the four drafts above look so different although they come from the same workshop.

Hosting in Germany

Servers in Germany, automatic backups, encryption set up. From 15 euros per month, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term. Anyone who already has a provider keeps them.

Loading time as a build requirement

Images are cropped and delivered in modern formats, fonts come from our own server. The target is a largest contentful paint under 2.5 seconds, including on rural mobile networks.

Usable without a mouse

Contrast, tap targets and keyboard operation are checked before handover. Micro-enterprises with fewer than ten employees providing services are exempt from the German Accessibility Act (section 3(3) BFSG) — which is no reason to build a site nobody can use.

Backups and updates

Applying updates, checking backups, keeping an eye on availability: routine work that tends to be left undone. We take it on from 49 euros per month if you want, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month.

Concrete results in conversation

We do not publish figures from individual projects or the names of businesses — a matter of confidentiality, not modesty. In a first conversation we set out what is realistic for your trade and your region, and on request we name businesses that have agreed to be passed on. Whether a conversation happens is for those businesses to decide.

Where we work

We are based in Söhlde, between Hildesheim and Salzgitter. On-site appointments take us around 80 kilometres out, and that same radius is where the bulk of our work sits: a business that builds in the next village is searched for in the next village. For businesses further away we work by video call, though the on-site photo guidance then falls away. An overview of the towns is available under regions.

Service area for on-site appointments

Beyond that area we work by video call. The photos at your premises are then taken by you, following a short set of instructions from us.
