Maintenance and support: who looks after the site after handover
On the day it goes live a website is not finished, it is in service. We apply updates, back it up every night, check that it responds and change text and images when you call.
In short and in plain language
This page is about looking after your website once it is live. A website needs care, even if little changes.
We keep the software up to date. We back up your site every day. We check often that your site can be reached.
Do you want to change a text or a photo? Then call us or write to us. We make small changes for you. You have one fixed contact person.
New pages and new texts cost extra. For the support you pay a fixed amount each month. We tell you the amount first. The support can be canceled with one month's notice to the end of the month. There is no minimum term.
We also look after sites that others have built, if the software fits. The initial assessment of your site is free. Write to us or give us a call.

Going live is not a conclusion, it is a start. From then on your website runs in an environment that keeps moving: the system behind it receives fixes, certificates expire, browsers change their rules. And in your business, prices, opening hours, emergency numbers and contact people change too. Maintenance and support means somebody deals with exactly that movement, so you do not have to at half past nine in the evening. How this fits into the rest of our offer is set out under Services.
One month of support at a glance
What support means day to day
Most businesses only notice that nobody is responsible when something stops working: the contact form no longer arrives, the browser warns about the site, or the homepage still shows the prices from two years ago. Until then everything looks quiet, and that is exactly the trap. A website does not announce that it needs care. It ages silently, and one day a customer tells you on the phone. Weeks often pass between the first unnoticed fault and that call. Anyone who has a website for a trade business built therefore decides, with the order, who will look after it afterwards.
None of this is technical housekeeping for its own sake. 85 percent (Bitkom) of trade businesses see a clear expectation among their customers of constant availability, and 74 percent (Bitkom) find that customers have become more critical. Anyone who hits a site at ten in the evening that shows a security warning, or whose form goes nowhere, calls the next business the following morning. Support is the unspectacular part that stops the work from the project, or from a relaunch, falling apart again within two years.
Six things that come up continuously
Applying updates
The system behind the site and its extensions receive fixes all the time, some of which close security gaps. We apply them and then look through the main pages, because an update can also shift something.
Backing up daily
Every night the complete state is secured; daily states are kept for seven days, weekly ones for four weeks and monthly ones for six months. A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption. That is why we run a restore test on a separate address twice a year.
Checking availability
The site is called every five minutes. If it does not answer, the alert goes to us and not to you. As a rule you hear about it only once the cause has been dealt with.
Certificate and transfer
The certificate for encrypted transfer is renewed before it expires. If it lapses, the browser shows a warning in front of your site, and most visitors turn back at that point.
Changing content
New prices, different opening hours, a new colleague on the team page, fresh project photos: you write or call, we put it in. Images are resized in the process so the site stays fast on a phone.
One contact person
You get a name and a direct line, not a ticket number. Someone sitting in a van in winter with cold hands does not want to hunt for a portal in order to change an opening hour.
How support is spread across the year
Not the same thing every day
Most of the work runs at night and without your involvement. Every night there is the backup and the availability check. Every month the updates are added, along with a test message through the contact form to your company address, so that nobody first notices a broken form through an enquiry that never arrives. Twice a year the restore test follows, once a year a joint review of the content.
- Every night: backup at 03:00, the site called every five minutes
- Every month: updates, visual check, test message through the form
- Twice a year: restoring one backup on a separate address
- Once a year: going through services, prices, team and service area
Four layers that belong together
A fast site is of little help if the certificate has expired. An up-to-date system is of little help if the service page still lists last year's prices. So we work from the bottom up: server and certificate, then system and extensions, then the backup as a way back, and content on top. Only the top layer needs input from you, everything below runs without you.
- Hosted on servers in Germany, certificate renewed before expiry
- Backup as a way back, not as a filing cabinet: tested, not merely present
- Content care extends to your business profile if you book that as well
- Being found is a separate service, see SEO for tradespeople
How the support works in practice
Taking stock
We look at what the site runs on, which system sits behind it, how far behind it is and who holds the credentials today. That rarely takes more than an hour and costs nothing.
Credentials and handover
Domain, hosting and editing access are brought into a clean state. The rights to the domain and the content stay with you, even once we take over the support.
Clearing up once
Before the ongoing support starts, we bring the system up to date and set up the backup and the availability check. If an installation is far behind technically, we say so openly and settle that one-off effort separately beforehand.
Running operation
From then on the rhythm runs: backup and check at night, updates and test message each month, your change requests in between.
You get in touch when something changes
A new service, a new employee, different prices: a message or a call is enough. All the ways to reach us are listed under Contact.

What is included and what costs extra
A from-price is only honest if it says what it covers. Website support covers ongoing operation: keeping the site current, backed up, reachable, plus small changes. It does not cover anything to do with new pages and new text, because that is project work and gets its own fixed price. The full overview of all recurring amounts is under Pricing.

If the site was not built by us
Where the support ends
- Support does not include writing new content. A new service text, a job advert or a reference page is project work with its own price.
- We change nothing about your prices, deadlines or claims unless you ask us to. Whatever you enter yourself remains your responsibility in terms of content.
- We do not run systems that no longer receive fixes. If an installation is that far behind, a move is the more honest route than support that can no longer achieve anything.
- We do not promise a fixed recovery time. If a data centre fails, we depend on it like everyone else. What we do commit to is the tested backup and a way back that has demonstrably worked.
- Being found by search engines is not part of the support. Whether a website builder is enough for your business is set out under Builder or agency.
Three ways to keep a website alive
Without provider names, because this is about the construction, not about brands.
Nobody is responsible
- Not included: Updates are left undone until something stops working
- Not included: Backups may exist, but nobody has ever restored one
- Not included: An expired certificate is noticed only when a customer calls
- Not included: Prices and opening hours stay wrong on the site for years
Support from us
- Included: Updates monthly, followed by a visual check of the main pages
- Included: Daily backup, states going back up to six months, restored twice a year
- Included: Availability check every five minutes, the alert reaches us
- Included: Changes on request, one named contact person with a direct line
- Included: from 49 euros per month, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term
Someone in the firm does it on the side
- Not included: The work lands with the boss or the office after a day on site
- Not included: During holidays or after a change of staff, nobody knows where the credentials are
- Not included: Images are uploaded unprocessed and slow the site down on a phone
- Not included: Updates are postponed because nobody can judge the risk
The essentials in five sentences
- Website support costs from 49 euros per month net, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term.
- It includes monthly updates with a visual check, the daily backup with tiered retention of up to six months, the availability check every five minutes and small changes of up to half an hour per month.
- Hosting in Germany from 15 euros per month and local visibility from 290 euros per month are separate services, each cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month with no minimum term.
- New pages and new text are project work and get their own fixed price before they start.
- We also take on websites from other providers if they run on a common system. We look at the state of them first.
You are not sure whether anyone is looking after your site
Send us the address of your website. We check when it was last updated, whether the certificate is valid and whether the form arrives, and tell you what ongoing support would cost in your case.
