Web design for tiling contractors: bathrooms, living space, large format
Tiling sells a surface people will look at for decades. Your website has to show what counts in a finished bathroom: the junction, the corner, the grout line and the build-up underneath.
In short and in plain language
This page is for tiling businesses. It is about your website.
Clients want to see your work up close. So the site shows close-up photos of corners and grout lines.
Each project comes with format, area and place. One part explains what happens under the tiles.
We come to your site and help with the photos. You pay a fixed price.

A relaunch with migration starts from 2,900 euros net. The photo session on your site carries no separate price, it is part of the project price.

For most households a bathroom refurbishment is the second most expensive decision after buying the house, and it is prepared in the evening on a phone. By the first call the client has looked at three firms and dropped two. They are not dropped on price, which nobody knows at that point, but because nothing on the website makes the work recognisable: five room views from a stock library, one sentence about quality, no format, no area, not a word about waterproofing.
Four elements, sorted by weight and effort
The essentials for tiling businesses, in short
- Four close-ups per bathroom work harder than twenty room views: skirting junction, internal corner, drain transition, grout line.
- Every reference project carries format, area, laying pattern and location. Without those four details even the best photograph stays decoration.
- Bonded waterproofing appears on almost no website. Explaining what happens beneath the tile is what justifies your price.
- Large formats deserve their own page: flatness, handling, cuts and grout lines are a different world from the usual small format.
- A form asking for room, area, format and timing replaces half of the calls in which you ask the same four questions today.
What the client decides before picking up the phone
Between the first search and your telephone there are several evenings. During that time the client settles three questions: whether your business does this kind of work regularly, whether they like the result, and whether they dare call with a half-formed idea. All three are answered by your photographs and by three or four sentences beside them. 74 percent (Bitkom) of trade businesses find that customers have become more critical, and 89 percent (Bitkom) report that individual offers are increasingly expected.
That is why we build the site along this shortlisting process, not along a product catalogue. The home page shows trade, service area and type of work within seconds. Then come the areas that define your trade: bathrooms and wet rooms, living space and floors, balconies and terraces, commercial areas. Each gets its own photographs and text. Anyone looking for a page across all trades is better served under industries; here it is about tiling.
References with details
Every project with room type, area in square metres, wall and floor format, laying pattern and location. Clients can hold their own project up against it.
Close-up instead of wide angle
The camera moves in: internal corner, skirting, threshold, drain transition. Anyone judging your craft looks for exactly these spots.
Waterproofing explained
A dedicated section on the build-up beneath the tile, on water exposure to DIN 18534 and on sealing tape at corners and penetrations.
Large formats as a subject
Slabs up to 120 by 260 centimetres need flat substrates, two people and different tools. A page of its own attracts the enquiries that pay off.
Sequence and build time
How long a bathroom is out of use, when each trade arrives and why the screed needs time. That takes pressure out of the first call.
Enquiries from the phone
A form with room, area, preferred format, timing and location, plus a field for photos of the existing room. You can assess it in the evening.
Bathroom, living space, commercial: different enquiries, one business
Tiling businesses rarely live off a single kind of job. Private bathrooms bring margin and photographs, living space fills the gaps between them, commercial areas bring volume and fixed dates. These three kinds of work speak to different people and need different pages.
Two routes an enquiry takes to reach you
The client searches alone
They have a bathroom from the eighties, a rough idea of the budget and no technical vocabulary. They look for finished bathrooms of a similar layout, a sense of how long it takes, and the feeling that calling with a half-formed idea is allowed.
- Before and after sets from your own jobs
- Bathrooms sortable by size, from cloakroom to family bathroom
- Plain explanation of build-up, fall and waterproofing
- A form that accepts photos from a phone
The plumbing firm recommends you
A considerable share of bathrooms arrives through the plumbing or heating firm running the refurbishment. There it counts whether you fit a running schedule, work cleanly and document the waterproofing. Your website is the evidence the partner firm passes on.
- Details on crew size and typical daily output
- A visible sequence: who goes first, when waterproofing and fitting happen
- Note on insurance cover and tax exemption certificate
- A named contact instead of a generic message box
Waterproofing is your argument, not your small print
The most expensive part of a bathroom refurbishment disappears beneath the tile. That very part separates a business that builds up properly from one that finishes quickly. On most websites there is not a word about it, because it is treated as obvious. For the client it is not: they see two quotations several thousand euros apart and no explanation.
- What water exposure to DIN 18534 means, with a photo of the shower area
- How sealing tape is worked into internal corners, thresholds and pipe penetrations
- Why substrate flatness decides the result with large formats
- Which impact sound and uncoupling layers go in when
- How the fall towards the drain is created and what that means for level-access showers
- Which photographs from the construction phase you later hold as evidence
How your website comes about
First conversation by phone
Twenty minutes about your business: the share of bathroom, living space and commercial work, service area, crew size, which jobs you want more of. After that the scope is set, and with it the fixed price from 1,490 euros net.
Photo session on your site
We join a bathroom in progress and photograph the existing room, waterproofing, laying and the finished surface with close-ups. This session is part of the project price. How we work is described under photos for trade websites.
Structure and text
We write the pages for bathrooms, living space, large format and commercial work, set up the reference gallery and build the enquiry form. You read it through and say where it does not hold up technically.
Approval and launch
After your approval the site goes live, with migration and redirects if an old website exists. We then set up the business profile for local search.
Ongoing care
Updates, backups and availability are handled from 49 euros per month, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term. What is included is described under maintenance and support.

What it costs
Which part of the site brings which enquiry
| Part of the website | What the client looks for there | What it saves you |
|---|---|---|
| Bathroom reference gallery | Finished bathrooms of a similar layout, with area and format | The question whether you have done this before |
| Close-up photographs | Corners, skirtings, drains and grout lines up close | The long conversation about workmanship |
| Waterproofing section | What the build-up beneath the tile is for | The debate about the price gap |
| Large format page | Whether you lay slabs of that size regularly | Enquiries you have to turn down anyway |
| Sequence and build time | How long the bathroom is out of use | Two callbacks per enquiry about dates |
| Enquiry form | A simple way to start with a half-formed idea | Four standard questions in every first call |

Typical courses of events in tiling
Example, not a client project. No particular outcome is assured.
Being found in your area
A tiling business works within a manageable radius. A website that does not appear when someone searches for the trade and the town is of little use. For the towns you work in regularly we build pages with genuine content instead of writing place names into the footer. On top of that comes a maintained business profile. 72 percent (Bitkom) of businesses see online reviews as a considerable opportunity to win new work and build trust. How we go about it is described under SEO for tradespeople. If you work alongside other trades, look at plumbing and heating, painters and joiners.
Show us your last bathroom
A few photographs of the last finished bathroom and ten minutes on the phone are enough for an honest view of what your website can do and what it costs.
