Websites for plumbing and heating

Emergency call-outs, boiler replacements, bathroom refits and servicing are four different enquiries with four different time horizons. We build a site that keeps them apart instead of piling them onto one page.

Fixed price from 1,490 euros net Emergency number on every page On-site appointments in Lower Saxony

In short and in plain language

This page is for plumbing and heating firms. We build websites for your trade.

Your customers ask for very different things. Some have an emergency, some want a new bathroom. Then there are heating and servicing.

Each case gets its own page and its own form. The emergency number is on every page.

On funding, the site only says that you give advice. We do not put amounts on it.

We take photos of your work. You know the price first. Call us or write to us.

Few trades receive such varied enquiries as plumbing and heating. In a single morning you get the phone call about a leaking connection, the email about replacing a boiler in summer, and the form from a family planning a new bathroom for next year. Three requests, three levels of urgency, three different expectations of your reply. A website that squeezes all of it onto one page serves none of them properly. We build sites that map each of these paths separately. An overview of every trade is on the sectors page.

The starting point in most plumbing and heating firms

The typical firm we deal with has three to fifteen staff and more work than it can accept. The website dates from the time a friend built it: a picture of a boiler, a list reading plumbing, heating, air conditioning, a form with an empty message box. The emergency number sits in the legal notice, and on a phone you have to zoom. The fact that 94 per cent (Bitkom) of trade businesses run their own website does not mean those websites produce enquiries.

  • The emergency number is not visible at once, although emergency work brings the most urgent calls
  • Boiler replacement, bathrooms and servicing sit in one undifferentiated list
  • The form has an empty message box, so system type and location are missing
  • There is not a single photo of a finished bathroom done by the firm itself
  • The service area appears nowhere, so people eighty kilometres away enquire too
  • Nobody in the firm can change anything without calling that friend from years ago

What the customer decides before calling

A homeowner with no heating decides in under a minute whether to dial your number. They look for three things: a number, a statement about availability, and confirmation that you drive to their town. Someone considering a boiler replacement is the opposite: they read for weeks, compare, and want to understand what is coming. 89 per cent (Bitkom) of firms report that customers increasingly expect individual offers, and 87 per cent (Bitkom) observe considerably greater price sensitivity. In heating work the two collide hard: the customer wants a figure, but the figure depends on the system, the building and the effort. A website cannot resolve that contradiction, but it can put it in order.

Emergency work without detours

The number sits on every page as click-to-call, with the hours when somebody actually answers. Below it a three-field form for the night.

Boiler replacement with system data

A dedicated page for boiler swaps and heat pumps. The form asks for system type, approximate year, floor area and how heat is delivered, instead of an empty text box.

Bathrooms with area and build time

Every bathroom shown carries square metres, build time in working days and the trades involved. That is exactly what a client looks for.

Built for the phone, not merely tested on it

The design starts in the narrow view. The target is the largest visible content in under 2.5 seconds, with no zooming and no sideways scrolling.

Service area stated plainly

Towns and an approximate radius appear in the top third. People outside it do not call, and you save the conversation. The same details are repeated word for word in the business profile.

Servicing as a steady base load

Service contracts, heating checks and drinking-water inspections get their own page with a sign-up form. That is the revenue which does not depend on the weather.

Four occasions, one firm

The time horizons belong apart

The biggest mistake on plumbing and heating websites is the catch-all page where emergency work, refurbishment and servicing sit stacked on top of each other. Someone searching at night does not want to scroll past a paragraph on heat pump funding, and someone thinking about a new bathroom needs no emergency number in large type. We give each occasion its own page, its own form and its own tone, and the home page merely directs traffic.

  • Emergency page with number, hours and a three-field form
  • Heating page with system type, year and floor area
  • Bathroom page with photo series, area and build time
  • Servicing page with sign-up for a service contract

The bathroom is the largest single job

For many firms a complete bathroom is the highest-value job with the longest lead time. It is decided through pictures, not text. A firm showing no photographs of its own finished bathrooms gets compared with every other firm that does.

  • Photographs from your own jobs instead of stock imagery
  • Area, build time and participating trades for every bathroom

Boiler replacement, heat pumps and the funding question

Anyone considering a heating replacement today arrives with half-knowledge. They have read articles about heat pumps, know terms such as flow temperature and hydraulic balancing by hearsay, and above all have one question: what does it cost and what do I get back. This is exactly where many websites go wrong. They put figures about funding programmes on the page which are out of date six months later.

We take a different route. The heating page states that you advise on funding questions and that conditions and deadlines change; checking them belongs in the consultation. No percentages, no amounts, no promises. Instead the page gets what actually helps: why a building has to be inspected before the swap, what hydraulic balancing achieves, and how long the system is out of action.

What the fixed price covers

The fixed-price website from 1,490 euros net includes up to eight pages, the separate entry points for emergency work, heating, bathrooms and servicing, the enquiry form with system fields, legal notice and privacy policy, domain setup and hosting for the first year. Anything beyond that is itemised openly on the pricing page.

Servicing, drinking water and revenue without weather risk

Service contracts are the part of the business least often described on websites, although they carry capacity in spring and autumn. They are also the easiest to sell: anyone who has once had a cold flat signs willingly. So the servicing page states what a service covers, at what interval it makes sense and how to sign up without phoning. Alongside it, inspections under the German drinking water regulations, flushing schedules for vacant properties, and responsibility in rented flats.

With larger properties the call comes from a property management company anyway. They need different information from a family: a named contact, realistic response times, and the size of the properties you work with. Where several trades meet, it is worth looking at web design for electrical contractors and web design for roofing contractors.

How your website comes about

Twenty to thirty minutes. We ask how the work splits between emergency call-outs, refurbishment and servicing, about your service area, and which enquiries you get too many and too few of.

The difference does not show in the header image but in the enquiries that eventually arrive.

Typical sequences from plumbing and heating

Emergency work got lost
Starting point
The emergency number appeared only in the legal notice and the footer. At night people searching on a phone did not find it and called the next result.
Measure
A dedicated emergency page with click-to-call at the top of every page, the hours the line is genuinely staffed, and a three-field form for everyone who does not want to phone at night.
Result
The urgent case has its own route. Enquiries about planned work continue through the detailed form.
Heating enquiries without details
Starting point
The form had an empty message box. Every heating enquiry needed two call-backs before it was clear which system was in the building.
Measure
Form fields introduced for system type, approximate year, floor area and heat delivery, plus the option to attach a photo of the rating plate.
Result
The facts are established before the first call-back. Whether a site visit is needed can be decided in the office.
Bathrooms without own pictures
Starting point
The page carried three stock images and not one bathroom built by the firm. Bathroom enquiries regularly ended in a comparison with other providers.
Measure
Finished bathrooms were photographed across two days, every project was given area, build time and participating trades, and a before view was added.
Result
The conversation now opens on workmanship rather than price, because the client has already seen the firm's work.

Example, not a client project. No particular outcome is assured.

One more topic belongs on every site in this trade: visibility in your own town. 88 per cent (Bitkom) of trade businesses are listed in online directories, and 72 per cent (Bitkom) see online customer reviews as a major opportunity to win new work and build trust. How the website, the directories and the reviews work together is covered under SEO for tradespeople. Firms doing their own bathroom tiling will find related notes under web design for tiling contractors.
