Web design for painters and decorators
Websites for painting businesses that serve two very different clients: the homeowner worried about their furniture, and the property manager who has exactly one week between move-out and move-in.
In short and in plain language
This page is for painters and decorators. We build websites for painting businesses.
Your clients often want to know very different things. Homeowners want to see that you work cleanly. Property managers want to know if you are reliable.
So each kind of job gets its own part. This includes rooms inside, facades, mould and colour advice.
For photos, we come to one of your jobs. This is part of the fixed price.
The first meeting is free. Write to us or give us a call.

A painting business sells something the customer only sees once it is finished — and that happens inside their own home. Hence the hesitation before the enquiry: how much dust will there be, how long is the room unusable, who moves the cupboards, how clean is the line to the ceiling in the end. A website for painters and decorators has to answer those questions before anyone picks up the phone. The other trades are listed under Sectors, the full scope of work under Services.
What the front page of a painting business can look like
Four kinds of enquiry arrive through the same page
Very different people land on the same front page of a painting business. The homeowner who wants the living room redone after fifteen years. The clerk at a property management firm who needs four flats finished by month end. The owner whose north-facing facade is turning green. And the worried caller with a dark patch behind the wardrobe. Four people, four different questions — and none of them will click through a site that consists of a welcome message and a contact form.
So each type of enquiry gets its own section, with its own language, its own images and its own entry point into the form. That is what decides whether you can judge an enquiry before you call back. The same thinking applied to neighbouring trades can be found under web design for tiling contractors and web design for joineries, whose crews you often share a site with anyway.
Interior work in occupied rooms
The most common private job and the one with the highest hesitation. The page needs covering, dust protection, the order of rooms and an answer to when normal life can resume.
Facades with scaffolding
Bigger volume, longer lead time, weather dependent. What counts here is substrate checks, dealing with algae and cracks, scaffolding time and a straight answer on which month still has capacity.
Flat handovers between tenants
Vacancy costs rent. The housing sector is not looking for the prettiest photo but for the assurance that four flats will be finished within a week, with key handover arranged.
Damp and mould damage
This enquiry arrives emotionally and usually with a phone photo. The page needs the sentence that the cause is established first and the painting comes afterwards — not the other way round.
Colour advice and design
Many customers know they want to redecorate but not in which shade. Describing consultation, sample areas and on-site discussion brings in better prepared enquiries.
Lacquer and woodwork
Doors, frames, radiators, window frames, stair railings. Small scale, often sold alongside the main job — and not even mentioned on many painters' websites.
Two clients, two entirely different questions
Private customers and the housing sector read the same page differently
The homeowner looks for proof of tidy work
He knows no technical terms but has a precise idea of the result and an even more precise fear of the road to it. Photos of a room resembling his own tell him more than any self-description. What matters to him is the line to the ceiling, how cracks in old plaster are handled, whether he has to move out and whether somebody clears up at the end.
- Before and after sequences rather than single fair-weather shots
- One picture of the covered room during the work
- Plain explanation of substrate, primer and drying times
- A form that accepts photos of the room straight from a phone
The property manager looks for capacity and reliability
Nobody decides on taste here. What is asked for is punctuality, reachability during the working day and how many flats you can handle in parallel. A framework contract rarely starts through a form, but it often fails because a website carries none of these details and the business never makes the shortlist.
- A dedicated page for property managers and framework contracts
- Figures on crew strength and typical weekly output
- A named contact with a direct line instead of a generic inbox
- Reference to tax exemption certificate and insurance cover
The flat handover decides who gets the standing order
No other job ties a painting business in as lastingly as the change of tenants. A property manager who has once experienced a flat finished on Friday so the new tenant can move in on Monday will call again. That reliability is hard to claim and easy to evidence: with a page that describes the process instead of promising it. When you inspect, how quickly the measurement follows, how nicotine, wallpaper remnants and plug holes are handled, who receives the key, how the invoice reaches the manager.
That expectations around speed are rising is not a guess: 85 percent (Bitkom) of German trade businesses see a clear wish among their customers for constant availability, and 89 percent (Bitkom) report that individual offers are increasingly expected. For the housing sector that means: whoever calls back the following afternoon is usually out of the running when a vacancy is urgent.
- A dedicated area for property managers, housing associations and owners' associations
- The process from inspection through measurement to key handover, in clear steps
- A figure for how many flats your business can take on per week
- An enquiry form with fields for property address, flat size and the desired completion date
- Direct line and morning hours of the person allowed to confirm dates
- A note on side services such as small repairs, flooring or waste disposal
Mould: the enquiry that arrives at ten in the evening
Damp damage brings the enquiries with the highest pressure. The sender fears for their family's health, often has a dispute with a landlord or insurer in the background, and is searching at night for someone who can make sense of it. Anyone who merely lists “mould remediation” as a keyword will get calls, but the wrong ones. Anyone who explains in three sentences that the cause is investigated first — thermal bridge, leak, ventilation habits — and that simply painting over it only hides the problem will get enquiries from people who understand what they are getting into. A form with photo upload saves half the first call.
What must not appear on the page
Colour advice is a service, not a giveaway
In the painting trade the difference between an interchangeable quote and a job with a healthy margin often lies in the design work. Anyone who proposes shades, prepares sample areas and explains why a north-facing room needs a different tone is no longer selling square metres but a result. On the website this part belongs up front: rooms in different tonalities, a short description of how a consultation runs, and a note on whether it is included in the quote. That your business also appears in map search and in reviews is the other half of the job — see business profile and visibility for trade businesses.
| Content on the website | What the private customer reads into it | What the property manager reads into it |
|---|---|---|
| Before and after from a similar room | This is what it could look like at my place | This business finishes tidily |
| Process with covering and drying times | I know how long I have to do without | The process is organised, not improvised |
| Figures on crews and weekly output | The business is big enough | Four flats are feasible |
| Description of the colour advice | I get help with the decision | Standard shades are understood |
| How damp and substrates are handled | Nothing is simply painted over | Rework is less likely |
| A named contact with a direct line | I can reach an actual person | Dates can be agreed reliably |
How a project runs with us
First meeting
Half an hour on the phone or at your premises. We clarify the split between private customers and the housing sector, how far you travel and which enquiries are missing. After that the fixed price stands, before any work begins.
Photo session on site
We join a running job for half a day: before, covering, work in progress, result. That is the part no image library replaces, and it is included in the project price at no extra charge. More under photos for the website.
Structure and copy
We write the pages for interior work, facades, handovers, damp and colour advice, and set up the gallery by room and substrate. You read it through and correct the technical detail — your wording always beats ours.
Technology and handover
Setup on a server in Germany, imprint and privacy notice, enquiry form with photo upload, one hour of briefing. Domain and credentials belong to your business afterwards, without conditions.
Afterwards
You can maintain everything yourself. If nobody has the time, we take on updates, backups and availability from 49 euros per month, cancelable with one month's notice to the end of the month, no minimum term — see support.
