GefStoffV

Abbreviation for Gefahrstoffverordnung

In short and in plain language

The GefStoffV is a German rule for work with harmful materials.

One example is asbestos. Before the work, the firm checks what the risks are.

For work on a house, the customer has to help too. For example, they tell the firm the year the house was built.

Definition
The GefStoffV is the German Hazardous Substances Ordinance. It protects employees and others during work with hazardous substances such as asbestos. Among other things, it requires a risk assessment before work starts. For work on buildings, it also obliges the client to pass on available information to the firm, such as the construction year.
