type test
In short and in plain language
The type test is a test for a model of a device.
With it, the maker shows that the model meets the rules. For stoves, it is about fumes and how well they use the fuel.
The test is for the model. It does not check how the stove is fitted on site.
Definition
Test with which a manufacturer shows that a model of an appliance meets certain requirements. For wood-burning stoves, it covers the emission limits and the minimum efficiency. The proof applies to the model, not to each individual installation.
